I Ball!...The Final Chapter!

OK,so here we are in the finalz...wana know what happens.Its here heroes are made,villians are formed,character and strenght are tested to the max.Its win or bust,ball or fall,takeover or go home,show me d money(50 grand to be exact)...so lets watch it unfold...
Its 4:20pm.The final game of the one-day 6 team(later 5) competition.
My team,the team in grey versus the blue team.We start the same team that outclassed our first opponents i.e Shakespare(me) @ point/shooting guard.Steven @ shooting/point guard,Lere 1 small forward,Tola at power forward and Space(Deji) @ center.Lanre sits out the tip-off.
Jump ball,am off got off the screen and drop the 3,i hear the ref whisper to his assistant "here we go again".This blue team ball hard and got wicked zone defence man.I mean they were stuffing us out and space wuz outsized by atleast 2 inches in the center so u know we had it ruff.I missed shot after shot,to be honest i didnt make another 3 pointer after the first one.I got pissed off by our sloppy play and how we culdnt get past their defence,twas sickening.I got so pissed ater one turnover that i kicked the ball outta d court,ofcourse i got the technical and my teammates told me to slowdown and let the game come to me.After that i threw up 3 more misses then i got so frustrated i checked out of the game.
"Cometh the moment,cometh the man."In steps Lanre,the undersized guard at 5'8.He completely took over,assist after assist,running that point like it was his pops personal business.Thenn i was on my feet again cheerin my teammates on,i mean that was the best i culd do.We started closing up the gap and then Lanre hit a 3..wow.1 point game now.I was mad with joy screamin at my guys to do it man,go go go go!!!Lanre again,steal fast break assist steven scores the point and is fouled.We up by 2.Tola on "D" blocks a shot sends it to Lanre again on the next play dishes off to Lere and to Steven who finds Space shot...we up 3....10 secs left.They hit a 3,its level again.I check baq in for Tola.We on d fast break,steven scores and gets the foul.Free throw's good...GAME.....WE ALL ERUPT AND GO CRAZY.WWHHHHUUUUUTTTTTTTTTT! WE DID IT,WE WON.We the baddest ballerz on the bloq y'all and yeah for y'all who's bin asking....WE WON THE 50 Geez but that aint it.Its the pride of being King of the Court for atleast a year.See you next Xmas!!!

This season we've been really inconsistent.A win today,draw the next and a lose right after.I agree with one and all who agree that we indeed do miss our "captain fantastic" Viera Patrick but lets look at this team closely.This team is an example of how football should be played.I know we lost recently to everton and couldnt get pass wigan in the carling cup in our last time out and yes lost to Bolton once again in the F.A Cup but hey u jus "watch us".This team is a team that can compete in the now but dominate in the future.I'll tell you why....
Arsene has gone about acquiring beautifully talented youngsters to carry Arsenal into a bright future.
Goalkeepers apart, Wenger can field a full team and bench of players aged 22 or under (Eboue, Djourou, Senderos, Clichy; Walcott;pictured right, Fabregas;pictured left, Diaby, Reyes; Adebayor, Van Persie, with a choice of replacements from Flamini, Lupoli, Owusu-Abeyie, Song and Gilbert). Arsenal's future, then, holds more appeal than their present.
So Haterz watch out...the gunz are smoking and we gon get you!!!

Mr Dan Brown and His Books

You must have seen it,heard about it,read it and very soon,you'd be able to watch the movie BUT is Dan Brown actually conveying facts or fiction,nay,blasphemy.
I mean Mr Brown seems to have some personal vandetta against the church or christianity as a whole as his seeks to batter at the Faith.In publishings namely "Angels and Demons" and the "Da Vinci Code",he just seems to attack the foundation of the Christian faith and its spiritual head JESUS CHRIST. I, for one heard all the brouhaha about the what i feel is utter garbage and foolishness being propergated by Mr Brown and decided to investigate it personally and yes it did even exceed expectation.Had Dan been even an 18th century author,there is no doubt he would have been tried for herecy.The blasphemous "facts" that the book Da Vinci Code holds is not only mind buggling but also incredulous.Brown attimes in his writtings almost seems to be testing God in a manner saying...come down and defend your son's religion...Insinuating that Jesus and Mary Magdalene were an "item" and even had offsprings is utter insanity.The heretic gospel contained in this book is enough to waver an unsound christian's faith.
According to him,Jesus passed his ministry to his wife Mary, but she was pushed out of her postion of authority by a jealous Simon Peter and also that Mary was made to look like a harlot by the church so as to put men in a superior postion in the church is complete lunacy.These "facts" either by Da Vinci himself of by Dan Brown hold no water and in my opinion should be completely disregarded.
Although Leonardo DaVinci was one of the great minds of his time with many fasinating works including his world famous The Mona Lisa,personally I feel he got it completely wrong when he delved into biblical matters.His words and works are completely misleading on the issue and should have stuck to science,arts,architecture and the likes.
But hey,you have a choice to believe what you want but,its better to believe the TRUTH.
THE HOLY BIBLE IS THE TRUTH!

KOBE DROPS "81" POINTS ON THE RAPTORS

Kobe Bryant was absolutely marvelous in the game against the Raptors.
By the end of the third quarter on Sunday night at Staples Center, the story no longer was Kobe Bryant rescuing the Lakers from an embarrassing loss to the Toronto Raptors. It was Bryant playing one of the greatest games in NBA history. The Lakers trailed by 18 points at the start of the second half and the crowd was ready to explode in boos when Bryant took over in a way even he never has. He didn't stop until he had written his name alongside only Wilt Chamberlain in the record books.
Bryant, scored 55 points in the second half and finished with an incredible 81 in the Lakers' 122-104 victory. The only player to score more in the NBA was Chamberlain on his immortal 100-point night in Hershey, Pa., in March 1962.
'It hasn't really sank in yet,' Bryant said. 'We have four days off coming up here and I would have been sick as a dog if we'd lost this game. So I just wanted to step up and inspire them to play a better game and it turned into something pretty special.
'Not even in my dreams,' Bryant added about scoring 80. 'It's something that just kind of happened, it just happened. It's tough to explain. I don't know, it's just one of those things.'
When he checked out with 4.2 seconds left, Bryant and Lakers coach Phil Jackson shared a hug. Jackson sat Bryant for the six minutes at the start of the second quarter and watched his team fall behind by 14 in the process.
'To be honest with you, that's not exactly the way you want to have a team win a game,' Jackson said. 'But when you have to win a game, it's great to be able to have that weapon to do it with.
'I've seen some remarkable games, but I've never seen anything like that before. I wasn't keeping track what he had and I turned to one of my assistants, I said, I think I better take him out now. I think this is a time where I felt the game is sealed.'
'He said, I don't think you can. He's got 77 points.' So we stayed with it until he hit 80.' Bryant, who scored 62 points in a game last month, also eclipsed Elgin Baylor's 45-year-old franchise record of 71 points. The only players to break 70 in NBA history are Chamberlain, David Robinson, David Thompson, Baylor and now Bryant.
'That was something to behold tonight, I tell you,' Jackson said. 'That was at another level.'
If ever there was a game for the Lakers to reach the midpoint of their season, this was it. Bryant very well could wake up this morning having stolen the stage from the Super Bowl matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Seattle Seahawks.
Bryant shot 28 of 46 overall, 7 of 13 from 3-point range and 18 of 20 from the free-throw line. He had 14 points in the first quarter, 12 in the second, 27 in the third and 28 in the fourth.
But Bryant said a phone call he took' in the locker room ' from Magic Johnson might have meant the most' on the night'.
'That meant more to me than the game itself because I idolized him as a kid,' Bryant said, 'and for him to call me and tell me what a great game it was and how proud of me he is, that meant more to me than 81 points.'
'Bryant led Lakers back from 18 points down in the third. When he cut the lane and dunked off a pass from Lamar Odom with 31.9 seconds left in the quarter, the Lakers led 91-85. Bryant had 55 points, the rest of the Lakers had combined for 36.
Bryant capped the third quarter by jumping to get a hand on a Mike James pass in the backcourt, beating Jose Calderon to the ball and throwing down a two-handed dunk all alone to put the Lakers in front 87-85.
He went 11 of 15 in the quarter - - making only one trip to the line - - and narrowly missed breaking the franchise-record 30 points in a quarter he set only last month against Dallas.
Unlike his 62-point game against the Mavericks, however, Bryant got to play the fourth quarter. Bryant also took 16 free throws in the third quarter of that game, unlike Sunday's game.
The Lakers endured one of their worst stretches of the season with Bryant on the bench to start the second quarter. They were outscored 10-3, fell behind 46-32 and watched as Kwame Brown twice was called for three-second violations camping in the lane. Bryant also said the moment he shared with Jackson coming off the court was something special.
'It's special because we've been through so much,' Bryant said. 'We've been through so many battles, we've been through so many things. It's special for me because when I try to play the game, I try to please him. If he's happy with my performance, it makes me happy because I learned the game from him.

Game 2! 2.00 pm.
We up against stiffer opposition this time and we are unevenly matched in size. These dudes got 4 players well over 6'3 and we jus have 3 players in the 6 feet zone,I'm just beggin to be there at about 5'11 and some. Ok so its game time..starters. Space at center,Steven at the power forward, Tola at the 3 spot,I got the 2 giard postion and my manz Lanre startin in place of Lere comes in at the point,which we kip switchin by the way.My man Lanre comes in and we shrink in size cus he's playin in place of a 6'2 forward comin in at 5'9...but u know how we do, we got this...haha!
Jumpball and from the tip off,we knew we were gon kill,i mean litrally.I took my man out with some penetentiary style "D".Mata-o-fact kid had to beg me to ease up on him.D team rocked but the size of the opposing team began to show, and we were bein dominated inside the paint.So i was called on again to drop em again from beyond d arc.5 for 6 3-pointers,thats how i roll.The high point of the game was on a fast break,I and Space.I did the skip to my loo and threw up an opp way above the rim, i was lyke i messed it up but nope Space went up with a huge leap took it outta d air and boomchakala...The crowd went crazy.After that Steven on a fast break threw on off d board and yep u gessed it,Space picked it and took it down with the windmill.Tola and Lanre jus dominated,we ran fast break after fast break on these dudes man then...game.Its a wrap 32-28. We in the finals....I sMell victory,I can smell the money,I smell the Joy of winning.Did we win....I'd hit u on the rebound...holla

True Story!!!
TIME...11:45am.on Saturday 31,Dec.2005! I arrive at the Syrian club for a baskettball competition thats been planned the whole week.Its a one-day tournament involving 6 teams with 60 Grand the prize money up for grabs.I arrive with Lere and Tola (my teammates and also the tournament organisers). We are ready to go but we are still short of our final 3 players Deji aka SPACE,Steven and Lanre.I make the call they are on their way...they arrive we sort out the pre-tourney formalities,hey 1 teams chickens out at the final moment why? the captain says "I cant put up part of the prize money only to loose".He's scared,sadly but who wouldnt be i mean these were mean ballaz from the USA & UK and even d homeland (Naija) who are baq for holidays in Naija and decided to put up a tourney...O yeah,how i got d call to ball...my man Lere hollered at me and said he aint seen me ball in 3 years but from baq in KC,he remembers i was "d Truth" so he asked if i come come thru for his team,an like no smelliz.I told him i got two other ill kids who could handle the rock...my man, Space, who has like a 40 inch vertical,i mean kid jumped over me for an oop in a pick up game at mine so u know what i mean,and d boy steven who's a good 2 guard,real quik and all...well blablabla...its time to "play ball"! We're up first against this other team...I Got the rock in my hand i'm thinkin 3's ok so i go 1,2,3,4,5,6,7...7 strait 3's in d game.i mean 7 for 7 from beyond d arc,now thats ill...but HEY it aint all bout me,Lere had mad assists all game long,Tola jus kept grabbin boards and he did his thing form beyond d arc too so...,Space,o yeah,he was in space the whole time.Steven basically killed d team on the fast break,Lanre,well he sat out this game but look out for him...Cos he shows up big the next two games....We basically wrapped the game up like 41-17,Against a team that had the height advantage over us...thats TEAM EFFORT!.....To be continued!
